The Queen Of Trip-Hop is "Keeping Secrets"

What is up with Skye Edwards second solo album, "Keeping Secrets"?
Is Skye trying to keep her new album a secret on purpose??
Her MYSPACE (http://www.myspace.com/myskyesite) says."Go to the top and throw them down one by one", & I have no insight to tell you WTF that means.
Anyways,  It was released in the Fall of '09 and still can't be found in many stores.  The only place where you can buy the album that I know is on Itunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/keeping-secrets/id335944397).

She started writing songs for the album with Steve Gordon at the start of her 2006 Mind How You Go tour.  Apparently, Skye's previous record label, Karova went out of business, so she  released the album under her own label, Skyewards.

The tracklist has collaborations by many talented, such as Daniel Lanois, the former U2 producer; and Ivor Guest who produced the latest Grace Jones album.
Track list:

01-I Believe (4:51)
02-Boo Hoo (5:04)
03-Not Broken (4:39)
04-The Shape I'm In (3:36)
05-Monsters Demons (5:50)
06-Clock To Stop (3:54)
07-Almost Killed Me (3:54)
08-Wrong Alright (4:02)
09-Maybe To Spain (4:34)
10-Exhale (4:49)

Here is the music video for her latest single called "I Believe" that was directed by Fatima and produced by Veronica Saez @ Annex Films.

Despite the reviews that I've read so far, I think that Skye's music video for her latest single is quite authentic, fresh, and emotionally charged (like usual) .  Not to mention chill and sultry as ever.
But, does anyone know why she isn't being represented by a label? I think that its a personal choice that she's made.  I also think that Skye Edwards is a Heavy Hitter, and Legend in the Trip-Hop genre.   I Believe in you Skye.

Massive Attack, "Paradise Circus" featuring Hope Sandoval

Massive Attack just released the music video for the new single from the anticipated forthcoming album, Heligoland.

The Album will be released on February 8th, 2010.  Here's the track listing
1. Pray For Rain ( Featuring Tunde Adebimpe)
2. Babel ( Featuring Martina Topley- Bird)
3. Splitting the Atom ( Featuring Robert del Naja/ Grant Marshall/ Horace Andy)
4. Girl I Love You ( Featuring Horace Andy)
5. Psyche ( Featuring Martina Topley- Bird)
6. Flat of the Blade ( Featuring Guy Garvey)
7. Paradise Circus ( Featuring Hope Sandoval)
8. Rush Minute ( Featuring Robert del Naja)
9. Saturday Come Slow ( Featuring Damon Albarn)
10. Atlas ( Featuring Robert del Naja)

The Music Video is completely uncensored and I love Massive Attack for that.

The video is narrated by this old lady that's discussing her sexual experimentation with prostitution, when she discovered how much she loves to have sex for the camera.

The rest of the video contains REAL CLIPS from her 1970's sex video.

Now put all of this together with a track behind it featuring Hope Sandoval's Sultry voice and you have an  immediate masterpiece.

The Latest and Hottest Trip-Hop Music Videos!!!

Here's my latest infatuations that I've found from our most respected trip-hop artists:::

Chase The Tear.... The first single with Amnesty International for  Portishead's fourth album set for release as early as the fall of 2010.

Chase The Tear

Portishead | MySpace Music Videos

Although this track is a little upbeat for what I'm used to from Portishead. The lyrics and overall feel of it gives me the same mellow, slightly morbid feeling that Portishead is famous for.  I'm sure I'll be one of the first to be the anticapated album.

Me & Armini- the latest video from Emiliana Torrini's fifth album released in September, '08 also titled, "Me & Armini".

I like this track because it shows how truly versatile and creative Emiliana Torrini is.  I'm not sure if it's her voice or the eerie innocent beauty of her face.  I just love her faint accent when she sings and the morbid undertones that she produces so successfully, over, and over, and over again.

Hurry On Now, from Alice Russell's "Under the Munka Moon"released in 2006

Ok in the UK Alice Russell is considered R & B, but I'm pretty sure the first time I ever heard of her was on Morcheeba's "Back to Mine" Album, which I totally fell in love with. So I consider her to be somewhat Trip-Hop,
This single is very laid back, down-tempo, and totally satisfying. I wish she would've had some help on the production, and direction of the video. However, for such a talented singer, like Alice Russell,  her soul- voice and chill grooves surpasses the video.

An Interview from Tricky about his Latest Album, "Knowles West Boy"

His eighth album released in the US .September '08

This Man is on his way to yet another awesome breakthrough. With the release of this album, and the anticipated work with Massive Attack, Tricky will continue to be the Pioneer and the Prince of Trip-Hop as we know him.
